Question

A constituent asked Bromley Council to make four quick fixes to paths and roads in Crystal Palace Park to make it better for cyclists, such as the provision of a small gap in speed bumps. But he was told by an officer that no infrastructure works can take place due to the exclusivity agreement with the ZhongRong Group. Will you ask the council and the ZhongRong Group to apply some common sense and flexibility in the operation of his exclusivity agreement, to ensure that small improvements like this can be implemented?

The GLA will make available funding for improvements to the park, as originally planned in the HLF bid, to look at short-term improvements.  It may be that these improvements could be considered as options for this spend, but the demands on the funding will be high, and the improvements will need to be justified in terms of their relationship to any full park restoration that could be achieved if the ZhongRong Group's proposals are forthcoming.
