Question

At the November 2013 meeting of your rough sleeping group, the GLA pledged to 'explore the scope' of a campaign to warn businesses which currently donate unsold food to the homeless of the 'unintended consequences' of doing so. While I fully accept that to be effective a comprehensive package of support for rough sleepers needs to be offered, beyond simply the provision of food, will you urge more businesses to donate unsold food to projects that help the needy as part of a comprehensive package of support, rather than dissuading this practice through your proposed campaign?

The proposal from a member of the group for a campaign is not being pursued. I have no intention or wish to deter any company from donating surplus food to homeless people.
