Your question relates to 46 MPS officers who had been convicted of a crime committed whilst on duty and had a court hearing between 1 January 2010 and 31 October 2013.

The table below indicates the outcome of any misconduct proceedings directed at the 46 officers.

Points of Note:

       50% of the cases shown in the table relate to minor road traffic offences.

       Of the more serious cases 11 of the 15 officers who faced misconduct proceeding were dismissed.

       6 officers resigned. Therefore 17 out of 23 officers convicted of a more serious offence are no longer members of the MPS.

       Officers are no longer rountinely able to resign or retire to avoid dismissal, allowing misconduct hearings to be taken to their conclusion notwithstanding the officer's departure from the force.

*Manangement Action referes to anything that can be locally resolved to address the misconduct of an officer and can include:

       Pointing out how the behaviour fell short of the expectations set out in the Standards of Professional Behaviour.

       Identifying expectations for future conduct

       Establishing an improvement plan

       Addressing any underlying cases of misconduct.
