Question

Would the significant cost of keeping station staff in underused ticket offices be a help or a hindrance to TfL's continued rollout of improved step-free access across the London Underground network?

The changes proposed mean that staff will no longer be constrained behind panes of glass but will be visible and able to provide a more personal service to Tube customers. This will be especially beneficial to those with particular needs, such as visually impaired people, as more staff will be available to proactively approach them and provide assistance if required.
