Boosting apprenticeships is a collaborative effort between the GLA, Government and employers.

Since 2012, I have written directly to over 200 London businesses about apprenticeships, and in 2013 the LEP funded a successful marketing campaign and committed £1.5m to enhance the AGE grant for London SMEs. Since 2010, the number of annual apprenticeship starts has risen by 121 per cent (2009/10 - 2012/13).

I have lobbied Government and the National Apprenticeships Service to maintain and enhance their resources in London.  I am working hard with all partners to reach my target of 250,000 apprenticeships in London over my Mayoralty.
