Will you take this opportunity to apologise for your pejorative description of all those who have concerns over the current development proposals for the Mount Pleasant Sorting Office as "bourgeois NIMBYs"? If not, will you delegate your planning powers to your Deputy Mayor for Policy and Planning so that Londoners can be assured that all material planning considerations will be taken into account, regardless of whether or not they are in support of a development?

I want to see new housing and affordable homes coming forward, and large, central brownfield sites such as Mount Pleasant are important to this delivery.

Given the need to deliver new homes for Londoners and increasing population growth, I reject the suggestion from the Assembly that we are failing to deliver new homes, when the reason for calling in applications such as Mount Pleasant Sorting Office is in order to attempt to speed up the process of delivery.

I will be scrutinising the applications in due course to achieve the best planning outcomes.
