Question

Do you agree with the comments made by Thomas Heatherwick - designer of the New Bus for London, 2012 Olympic and Paralympic cauldron and co-originator of the current proposals for a 'Garden Bridge' across the River Thames - that the current redevelopment proposals for the Mount Pleasant Sorting Office are "downright lazy - cheap, bland, generic and misconceived"?

No.  I was required to provide a statement to the Councils over whether the scheme complied with the London Plan in September 2014.  At this time, I concluded that the masterplanning principles were appropriate for the site, and the design, appearance and public realm were of a high quality, with no adverse impact upon strategic views.
