Question

The Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy 2013-17 notes that there is a significant gap in terms of accommodation provision for young women and girls fleeing violence and abuse and states that MOPAC will work the London Safeguarding Children Board and boroughs to explore new housing support models and referral pathways for 16 and 17 year olds. Do you have figures on how many 16 and 17 year olds could be helped by this better housing provision? When will solutions be in place to fill this gap?

We do not currently have figures on how many 16 and 17 year olds could be helped. However, MOPAC is working with London Councils to understand both the need and demand in London. This will inform future work on this matter which is overseen by the VAWG Panel.
