It has been reported in the press that the alarm at the former Hampstead Police Station was left ringing for 48 hours in January 2014, causing much disturbance to local residents, with officers unable to turn it off. What steps have you taken to ensure that any future issues with former police stations are dealt with more swiftly?

Measures have been taken to make sure that there will not be a repeat of the issues with the alarm in the period leading up to when the building is sold. Once sold, the responsibility for the alarm will fall to the new owners.

Assessment of security requirements is a standard part of the MPS' building decommissioning process.
