TfL decided that re-letting this contract was the right decision to make for Londoners. It was clear that the previous contract would not have delivered the new system reliably or in the time period required.

TfL is reviewing lessons learned as a key element of the new procurement process now under way.

The Independent Investment Programme Advisory Group (IIPAG) will of course also play a role in reviewing those lessons learned. Part of this will be to ensure that recent lessons learned from other schemes worldwide that have incorporated this technology in similar operating environments are factored into the process.
