What opportunity will there be for people to register more than one contactless bank card with TfL so that someone touching in with one bank card and touching out with a different bank card will not end up paying two maximum fare penalties?

The contactless system will not permit cards to be used in this way.

TfL's customer information will stress that, as with Oyster, customers must use the same card to touch in and out in order to pay the correct fare, and must use the same card throughout the day or week to benefit from price capping.

These arrangements are essential to prevent the proposition becoming over-complex and confusing for our customers.

Customers will be advised that if they accidently use different cards to touch in and out in the course of a journey, they will be able to obtain a refund through the TfL Contact Centre or through their online account.
