The Low Carbon competition is a student prize raising awareness of the opportunities of London's green economy within London's student population.  The competition enables and inspires students to showcase innovative ideas to help reduce London's carbon emissions and for the winning entrant, help bring their concept to market.

This year's competition, sponsored by Siemens, will build on the success of the prize, increasing the number of applications from a broader range of London universities and colleges while continuing to support previous winners in getting their ideas realised.

The competition's additional benefit of providing up to 6 paid internships with sponsor Siemens, allows the programme to reach students from a wider range of disciplines than would be possible with a purely "green" message. This greater scope adds further value to the programme ensuring more students from more varied backgrounds actively seek to join and expand London's low carbon economy.
