Written response from the Mayor My officials made representations on this issue. I am pleased to say that the Government has in the last fortnight laid new regulations before Parliament in response to this issue.

These regulations ensure that under Universal Credit those in supported "exempt accommodation" will continue to receive the housing element of Universal Credit for their usual home in addition to Housing Benefit for their exempt accommodation.

The DWP has also had discussions with representatives of the sector, including Women's Aid and Refuge, to shape further regulations. The DWP hopes to introduce these additional regulations as soon as possible.
