Answer for A&E capacity in London II

Answered By:
The Mayor

Written response from the Mayor Of course I am concerned if ambulances are being turned away from A&E; however I understand from NHS England (London) that London has recovered its A&E performance and currently stands at 96 per cent for quarter 2 (July-Sept), which is above the required 95 per cent for the A&E 4 hour standard.

A&E waiting times are a complex issue affecting the whole country. There is unlikely to be a single cause or solution. MQ 1452/ 2013 and MQ 2391/2013 set out my understanding of the way in which NHS England (London) is leading the process.

My Health Team is due to meet Anne Rainsberry later this month and will be requesting a progress update.
