Written response from the Mayor I understand that national work is ongoing to address sustained A&E performance throughout 2013/14, including preparing for winter pressures. Regional panels have been established to review and assure Recovery and Improvement Plans produced by Urgent Care Boards which have been set up across London with multi-agency membership.

In addition the Government has allocated an additional £500 million over the next two years to ensure A&E departments across the UK are prepared for winter.
