Answer for London Living Wage - The 'norm' by 2020

The Mayor

Written response from the Mayor During my time in office I have continued to encourage private sector employers to take up the London Living Wage and my officers work closely with London Citizens to encourage more to do so.

Specifically my officers are currently working closely with the Living Wage Foundation to target large employers in London's financial and retail sectors. I have written personally to each employer to encourage them to work to deliver the London Living Wage and offer support to do so. The number of accredited employers is growing as November's London Living Wage week approaches, encompassing a broad range of private and public bodies.

I will continue to support the London Living Wage during my tenure in office and take part in the annual Living Wage Week.
