The Mayor

Written response from the Mayor MOPAC is currently in the process of recruiting independent lay members of police misconduct panels for the next four year term of office. Since January 2012 one training session for members has been provided.

In addtion to this independent panel members have received the following training over their four year term:

• 1 day training provided by the MPA • 1 day at Essex Court Chambers on Police Misconduct which covers process and regulations • 1 day appeals panel training • 1 day update on new police conduct regulations.

Training for independent panel members is managed jointly by MOPAC and the MPS and provision is currently being reviewing to identify any gaps.
