Answer

Answer for Trafficking funding

Answer for Trafficking funding

The Mayor

Tackling trafficking has been the responsibility of different units over the last 10 years. There is insufficient time within the Mayor's Question process to fully research the answer to this question, as this would require a significant amount of time. The MPS created the current dedicated Human Trafficking in April 2010. The funding required for this unit to date is circa £6,000,000. This equates to approximately £2m per year, which includes police officer and staff wages, overtime, vehicles, IT, and phones.
