Written response from the Mayor 09 September 2013

The theft of Newham Council Law Enforcement uniforms and any subsequent misuse to either impersonate a police officer or fraudulently issue fines by impersonating a Newham Council official are offences under section 1 of the Theft Act 1968, section 90 of the Police Act 1996 and section 1 the Fraud Act 2006 respectively. Newham MPS will seek to prosecute anyone suspected of these offences, depending on the individual circumstances of any case.
