The Care Quality Commission has recently intervened and restricting patient admissions at Queens Hospital, due to waiting times. What do you think is an appropriate amount of time to put plans on hold to close the nearby A&E at King George's Hospital? Will you now oppose the planned closure of A&E services at King George's Hospital?

I have received an assurance from David Flory, Chief Executive of the Trust Development Authority (TDA) that no changes will be made to A&E services at King George's Hospital until the issues at Queen's Hospital are resolved.

I understand that the TDA is working closely with Queen's Hospital, local clinicians and commissioners to deliver the rapid and sustainable improvements that are necessary to its A&E service. I think we all want these issues at Queen's Hospital to be resolved as soon as possible so that patients receive the high quality, timely care that they deserve
