Question

Given that the independent report by OHR, commissioned by the London Ambulance Service, demonstrates that in order to meet demand, LAS will need to recruit an additional 229 front line operational staff, an increase of 8.3%, does he now regret accepting so readily the assurances previously given to him (MQT 2996/2012) that are now so plainly wrong.

My principal concern is that the people of London continue to receive access to the best health services possible. The London Ambulance Service continues to meet its response time targets and is adjusting staffing levels to meet demand. In April of this year the LAS confirmed it was recruiting 240 front line staff and increasing the number of paramedics in order to continue to meet the demand in London.
