The burden placed on health and other services by excessive drinking requires a response from many agencies. The GLA is working closely with a number of partners, including the Safe Sociable London Partnership, Public Health England and the Boroughs to help tackle this issue. Areas of work include: increasing understanding of the problems posed by excessive drinking, challenging those who are at risk through the use of Identification and Brief Advice, and supporting best practice in licensing.
