I have been contacted by Coleridge Primary School in Crouch End who hold a weekly bee-keeping club. You will be pleased to know that the children are committed to caring for the well-being of the bees, and pleased to hear that the European Union banned neonicotinoid pesticides which are blamed for destroying bee population. What action are you taking to ensure that we maintain a healthy population of bees?

Answer for Bees

In partnership with Sustain – the alliance for better food and farming – I launched the Capital Bee campaign which aims to raise awareness of the plight of bees in London offers support and advice about the ways in which Londoners can help. Furthermore, through my greening programmes (including Help a London Park, Street Trees and Pocket Parks) I am helping to create new areas of bee-friendly habitat and forage.
