In March, you announced that you intend to close Southgate police station when an alternative site for a contact point and neighbourhood patrol base can be found much to the disappointment of local residents who feel that their contribution to the consultation was not properly considered. Will you please reconsider your proposals and keep Southgate police station open?

MOPAC/MPS consulted on proposals to close the front counter at Southgate Police Station. Following consultation, Southgate Police Station will remain as a Local Policing Team parade, deployment base and contact point.

During a recent footfall survey, the front counter at Southgate Police Station received an average of six callers a day. In future Southgate Police Station will offer a contact point on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
