The MPS follows ACPO rules. It sends locally collected data that meets the National ANPR Data Standard to the National ANPR Data Centre. This data can be accessed directly by police forces signed up to a Memorandum of Understanding.

Forces contact each other directly for permission to use each other's data evidentially or for bulk data to use in complex analysis. The MPS has a unique live national feed and doesn't need to import data.
