Answer for The Fourth Plinth

Answered By:
The Mayor

I can confirm I am not proposing a statue of Baroness Thatcher for the Fourth Plinth. The Fourth Plinth is not vacant; it is home to an internationally renowned public art commission, loved by Londoners and visitors alike.

Baroness Thatcher was a towering political figure and a great Parliamentarian and I support the idea of creating a lasting monument to her achievements. My office will therefore work closely with Westminster Council and the relevant Government Departments to establish the best route forward and the feasibility of any proposals including the available sites for consideration.
