Answer for Lewisham Hospital

Answered By:
The Mayor

On 27 March I met Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Health and, as agreed, I passed on the concerns of the Save Lewisham Hospital campaign. In particular I highlighted its concerns about a) the proposals for maternity services at Lewisham Hospital; b) the validity of the '100 lives saved' statistic; and c) the financial modelling on which the proposed changes to Lewisham Hospital were based. I also presented the Secretary of State with a copy of the documents the campaigners had prepared.

I reiterated these points to Jeremy Hunt in a letter dated 11th April, a copy of which has been sent to the Save Lewisham Hospital campaign.
