Question

The Mayor and all parties support an extension of TfL's influence over South London's commuter rail services. Does the redevelopment of London Bridge, with its both immediate and long term implications for the network present an urgent opportunity for new working patterns and structures between TfL, Network Rail and the Train Operating Companies?

During the redevelopment of London Bridge, TfL will be working very closely with Network Rail and other partners to ensure clear communication with customers, as explained in MQ1507 / 1013.

If I am successful in persuading the Government to give me responsibility for suburban services in southeast London, then this would be the ideal opportunity for TfL to work even more closely with other parts of the rail industry at London Bridge and elsewhere, improving journeys for all rail passengers in the Capital.
