Question

Along with many others, East Finchley (Viceroy Parade, N2 8AF) and Swiss Cottage (NW3 6JU) Crown Post Offices in my constituency are earmarked to be franchised by the Post Office which will result in inferior Post Office services for my constituents, and they will be relocated. The Post Office say they do not yet have a retail partner for these nor do they look likely to be able to find a credible, financially sustainable partner. What representations will you make to the Post Office concerning these proposals both for my constituents and for Londoners generally, who rely on these services?

Answer

As you are aware the Royal Mail reforms are a matter for the Government and are led by the business minister Michael Fallon. I would expect that the Royal Mail group will offer East Finchley and Swiss Cottage residents an efficient service in the future at the best value for money for taxpayers.
