Question

A recent report has found that locally run employment schemes are more effective than the Government's Work Programme, and London Councils has called for the devolution of unemployment support. Do you agree that better services can be provided at a local level and will you lobby the Government for greater control of funding in this area?

The Government's Work Programme has only had one set of interim results published. It is too early for comparisons across employment programmes commissioned at local levels to be made.
