Officers are drafting a response which will be sent shortly.

Written response received on 1 July 2013.

The simulator was purchased in partnership with First Group. TfL's contribution was to cover a pilot study of how useful the simulator would be as part of a suite of measures used for driver training and to make the simulator available to other operators to assess for their own training.

Research showed that, whilst the simulator was useful as part of a suite of measures for driver training, other operators did not feel that the additional benefit justified investment. First Group have retained the simulator and are still using it.
