Please state how many passengers have been charged on both their Wave and Pay and Oystercards when tapping onto TfL services. Please also list the number of successfully processed refunds

Officers are drafting a response which will be sent shortly.

No passengers have been charged twice. The system will not take money out of both an Oyster and a Contactless card at the same time.

A small number of contactless payment cards have been charged when the customer intended to use their Oyster card instead. The total number of refunds made to customers since the scheme launched was 480 on 22 April.

TfL has launched a publicity campaign to emphasise the need for customers to ensure only one card is presented to the reader and it is now receiving less than one phone call per day on this issue.
