Given early indications from pilots are that the benefit changes are likely to result in considerably higher numbers of Londoners falling in to arrears with their rent, what is the Mayor doing to mitigate this and avoid a situation in which the benefit changes contribute to an increase in homelessness in the capital.

The very purpose of the pilots is to test a range of elements to provide protection for landlords and tenants, to inform the wider roll out of the direct payments policy
