The Housing and Regeneration Committee heard on 7 November 2012 that there are few GLA owned sites suitable for institutional investment. Can you (a) please provide more details on the feasibility of your pledge and (b) the number of homes that you anticipate can be delivered through institutional investment in private rented housing on GLA land holdings?

(a) We are encouraging new institutional investment in the private rented sector by facilitating discussions between investors and some of the preferred partners on a couple of GLA sites and later this spring we will announce the release of a couple of GLA owned sites specifically targeted at the 'built-to-rent' sector.

(b) The GLA is scoping the potential for institutionalised investment on specific sites in its ownership, and will set out the number of homes, subject to planning, shortly.
