Answer for Town Centres

Answered By:
The Mayor

The Government's Future High Streets Forum will look at how high streets need to change to prosper. My draft Town Centres Supplementary Planning Guidance, recently published for consultation, addresses this matter in London's unique circumstances. My draft SPG covers all the issues being considered by the Forum including promoting a mix of commercial uses and housing; supporting town centre and well integrated edge of centre development; bringing underused space in town centres back into use, including for pop-up shops; and management of parking. I will therefore ensure it is considered by the Future High Streets Forum.
