I met with key people including the incoming Governor of Bank of England, Mark Carney and the new Chief Executive of Barclays, Antony Jenkins. At my meetings with Presidents of the Universities of MIT and Chicago, we discussed how London can learn from their long standing success in commercialising innovations and I look forward to building on these relations. I also made connections with Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State of UAE and Gerald Lawless, President and CEO of the Jumeriah Grup, which has proved valuable in preparation for my trip to the Middle East in April.

I also spoke at the Morgan Stanley Dinner, Coca Cola reception, and the British Business Leaders' lunch, which meant I addressed in total around 500 business leaders and proved a great platform to promote my prescription for jobs and growth in London.

The trip was important for encouraging inward investment in the capital.
