What are the Mayor's views on excessive estate agent boards, redundant phone boxes and other eyesores that create a cluttered streetscape in many parts of London? What will he do to ensure that the issue is dealt with by the appropriate authority or organisation?

Answer for Streetscapes

My London Plan has clear policy to promote good quality public realm (Policy 7.5). Policy 7.5 states that landscape treatment, street furniture and infrastructure should be of the highest quality, have a clear purpose and maintain uncluttered spaces.

The treatment of the landscape such as the management of estate agent boards and redundant phone boxes is a local matter and it is appropriate that they are addressed by individual local authorities in London.
