The Stadium demonstrated during the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics that it is already a highly versatile venue capable of holding world class sporting and cultural events. We are currently considering football use in the Stadium as one of the options to sit alongside athletics usage. We already have the 2017 World Athletics Championships to look forward to along with the Stadium being included on the long list of venues to potentially host the 2015 Rugby World Cup matches. We will make a decision on the future uses of the Stadium as soon as possible. This is an extremely important project that will deliver a legacy for decades to come, so it is important to take the necessary time to make the right decision.
