My letter to the Secretary of State for Transport on national measures needed to meet NO2 limit values referred to the transport measures that are set out in chapter 5 of my Air Quality Strategy. Of these, the most important are tax incentives for the cleanest vehicles, a certification scheme for NOx abatement equipment and grants for vehicle retrofit and scrappage. We will continue to discuss the importance of these measures with the Government as we work together on development of a joint action plan for N02 in London.
