Question

What legal advice have you received on the need to revise your Air Quality Strategy following the European Commission's decision on the time extension application which required 'London's air quality plan will need to be revised by 11 June 2011 to include the short-term measures and be submitted to the Commission', and will you publish it?

Since my Air Quality Strategy already includes a number of local measures designed to provide reassurance that hotspots in central London will meet EU limit values for PM10 in 2011, there is no need to revise it. The Commission's reference to 'London's air quality plan' relates to the overall submission rather than to my Air Quality Strategy.
