Question

Further to your reply to MQ 1120/2009 in May 2009, what progress, if any, has been made in clarifying whether the properties owned by TfL on Brownhill Road in Catford are actually needed for transport improvements in Catford? Given these properties were first purchased by the Department of Transport in 1987 will you seek to ensure that a decision is finally made to either use the site for transport improvements or to sell the properties for development to end this long term blight in Catford?

TfL continues to work actively with the London Borough of Lewisham and private sector investors to improve the flow of traffic in Catford aligned to the regeneration of the town centre. The availability of these properties is an important part of these discussions and any potential redesign of the road network. We hope that a mutually agreed and funded solution will be forthcoming.
