The number of companies in the capital voluntarily undertaking equal pay reviews has increased in recent years; however, the majority of private companies still won't disclose their pay records. Will the mayor use his influence to urge private companies to make public their pay records? (Women in London's Economy report 08)

There are many reasons for the gender pay gap, including blatant discrimination, and so I support companies undertaking voluntarily pay reviews. I also want to make sure that women are afforded the appropriate opportunities to seek employment in the recession, for young girls to be given appropriate careers advice when still in education, and more flexible working arrangements to enable women to progress further in their careers.
