Question

I have recently been informed that proposed changes to this junction - widely regarded as dangerous by local residents and councillors - have been removed from the work programme as 'workable proposals that have emerged are very costly'. Residents consistently express concerns to me about this junction. Will you undertake to speak to TfL's Surface Transport team about this matter and obtain for me the reason that existing proposals have now been withdrawn?

The proposals for this junction have not been removed from TfL's work programme. Investigation has taken time due to difficulty in producing an option that provides benefits without generating a significant negative impact on general traffic flow in the area. Further work is continuing, which is scheduled for completion later this year. This will identify whether a viable design can be progressed.
