Andrew is asking, since LOCOG will not be evaluating the success in driving up sports participation, who will be evaluating that. My short answer to that is it is going to be probably Hugh Robertson [Shadow Sports and Olympics Minister] and Jeremy Hunt [Shadow Culture Secretary], without the risk of being party political. Obviously the Government will want, after 2012, to be looking very, very hard at the success this country has had in driving up sports participation nationally.

Now we in London are going to be doing our bit too because we are putting £15.5 million into local sports. We want to see a sporting legacy from the Olympics and, yes, we will certainly be evaluating the success of what Kate Hoey [Commissioner for Sport] and others are doing. We want to make sure that we are increasing sporting participation. I thought what Pat Cash [retired professional tennis player] said yesterday about tennis was absolutely right. We should think about some of these issues. We should be doing far, far more.

I am very pleased with some of the things we are doing; the mobile swimming pools are good. I think we could do a lot more of them, but we are going to need to measure our success and to have measurable outputs from this investment.
