My Air Quality Strategy proposes a number of initiatives to reduce harmful emissions produced by taxis. As part of the consultation process, TfL met with the taxi trade at the first of several workshops on 10 November to discuss the proposals and their impact. In addition, further ideas and initiatives that could be introduced to reduce emissions were considered. It is expected that a number of exemptions could be implemented as part of the detailed proposals and these could include those vehicles fitted with remanufactured engines that meet Euro V standards for emissions.
