My draft Water Strategy addresses this issue in Chapter 5, Disposal of Waste Water, and particularly Proposal 10, which supports the cost effective implementation of the Thames Tideway Sewers with minimal disruption to Londoners. Furthermore, my draft replacement London Plan also supports this project and sets the strategic planning framework for it to be delivered. On the back of this I have objected to a number of London Borough Development Plans that have not recognised the need for the project.

The EU are continuing to maintain the pressure on us to deliver the project but I don't believe that any particular further legal action can be justified whilst we are making progress with this enormously complex and expensive project.
