Performance on the District line has improved over the past 18 months. Both Excess Journey Time, to which the consistency of intervals between trains is a contributing factor, and the percentage of the overall schedule operated have shown improvements, excluding temporary disruptions from industrial action and snow.

From December this year, alongside the extension of the Circle line to Hammersmith, London Underground (LU) will be changing the service pattern on the Wimbledon - Edgware Road and Wimbledon - City routes to provide more City services in peak periods, in line with customer demand.
