Question

Given that it was a manifesto pledge of yours in the 2008 to extend the Freedom Pass so it could be used 24 hours a day, did you monitor, and if so please supply, figures showing how many passengers used the Freedom Pass between 6.00am and 9.00am on each weekday during the months of April, May, June and July 2009?

The Oyster system does not archive data on card usage in sufficient detail to enable the requested information to be provided. A breakdown of Freedom Pass journeys was, however, captured during March for the purposes of monitoring the change to Freedom Pass validity, and has also been obtained for a recent week in September - see Table 1 below.

Average daily Freedom Pass journeys, including both elderly and disabled categories, since April 2009 in each of TfL's 4-weekly accounting period are shown in Table 2 below:
