Since the roll out of Victim Focus Desks in each borough from April 2007, MPS compliance with the Victim Code of Practice has risen to 88.6%. Performance in the MPS continues to improve and week commencing 5 October 23 Boroughs met or exceeded the 89% target for keeping victims informed.

Between August 2008 and July 2009 (the most up to date year on year figures) local Safer Neighbourhood Teams carried out 120,818 victim visits across London. This was a 32.79% increase from 90,982 over the same period for 2007/08.

Over the coming year the MPS intends to build on these successful approaches to further improve victim satisfaction and meet its Policing Pledge.
