The consultancy firm Grant Thornton was commissioned by the LDA, at Dan Ritterband's bequest, to examine the feasibility of merging London's promotional agencies, such as Film London - despite the fact that the Mayor has himself made it clear to the Assembly that he had no plans or remit to do so ( How much has been spent on this consultancy exercise, and what have been the outcomes?

The LDA commissioned Grant Thornton to carry out a review of four promotional agencies in 2008/09 in order to establish whether best value was being achieved. The cost of the study was £ 78,451 plus VAT. The LDA and the Mayor's Office, advised by the Promote London Council, are currently considering the recommendations of the review as regards future contracts for the promotion of London.
